you've had a birthday...

Yeah, yeah. It was my birthday last week. Yipee! :)

I had a fabulous time. Mr. Webb took me to dinner (even better than normal because I ate FREE for my birthday)! Delicious!

Both my family and my in-laws held Sunday night parties for me, and both were yummy and fun!

And now that I'm one year older, I am infinitely more knowledgeable.

HA!!!

excited!!!

I am really, truly, gigantically excited! Yesterday we finalized our plans to go to Michigan for a week this summer with my sister, her husband, and my mom. I get to see my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I don't think I've been back there since elementary or junior high school. My grandparents came out for my wedding two years ago, but I've not seen them since.

my favorite recipe

I love this recipe! It's fast, easy, and delicious! I like to serve it with roasted asparagus, seasoned with lemon pepper and garlic salt.

Lemon Pasta

1 pound of pasta
2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1-2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes
salt and pepper
zest and juice of two lemons
3/4 cup heavy cream
parmesan cheese

Cook pasta.

While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large pan. Add garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, and salt and pepper. Add lemon juice, heavy cream, and a ladle of the pasta water. Bring to a bubble.

When pasta is done, drain and put in serving dish. Pour sauce over pasta and stir to coat completely. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese.

work

Well, the hard part is over. No more tutoring for the rest of the school year. A good thing, too, since both the tutors AND the students are a little burned out.

For the rest of the year, our job will be helping with state testing. We'll mostly be reading tests out loud for those that have the option available to them. Those who are lucky enough to be Spanish speakers may even get to translate a few math and science tests for the kids.

Yay for the end of school! It's a much better time now then when I was a student. :)
