kids

Sometimes (like today), I wish the kids I work with could realize that the effort they're putting (or not putting) into school now will actually matter later on in life. I want so badly to help them, but they seem like they don't even care.

How can I motivate these awesome children to reach for their potentials?

chocolate is a temporary bribe.
Doing and applying all those child care, and intrinsic motivation techniques you learned in your classes is probably a smart answer.
Prayer is a huge relief, and help.
And, games that get the point across make education fun too........
good luck

Ditto to Diana's good ideas. You gotta find something that does interest them and bring it into the curriculum or use it as a reward or conversation topic. If you have a good relationship, they'll want to please you by working harder.
